What this test measures
Typhidot looks for IgM and IgG antibodies to a specific outer membrane protein of Salmonella typhi. IgM turns detectable from around day four of fever – earlier than Widal – which makes it useful when a doctor wants an answer sooner in the illness.
Who should consider it
Patients with sustained fever entering the second half of the first week, especially where typhoid is suspected clinically. Your physician may pair it with a blood culture, which remains the definitive test for typhoid.

No fasting required. Share the date your fever began and any antibiotics already started.
