What this test measures
NS1 is a protein the dengue virus releases into blood very early in the illness. It becomes detectable from roughly the first day of fever and stays useful through about day five – the window when antibody tests are still negative.
Who should consider it
Anyone in Greater Noida West with sudden high fever, severe headache behind the eyes, body and joint pain, or a rash during monsoon season. Testing early matters: an NS1 done on day one gives your physician a head start that a test done in week two cannot.
Preparation
No fasting required. Give the sample as soon as fever starts rather than waiting for it to settle.
