In dengue, test Dengue NS1 Antigen on fever days 1–5 and Dengue IgM after day 5, and repeat a CBC (platelets and haematocrit) daily as your doctor advises. One platelet report is only a snapshot; the trend matters more. Most patients recover without a platelet transfusion, and papaya leaf does not replace medical care. Go to hospital immediately for severe stomach pain, repeated vomiting, bleeding gums or nose, extreme weakness or cold, clammy hands and feet, even as the fever comes down.Read the full guide — dengue platelet count at 80,000 →

Not every blood test needs fasting. CBC, HbA1c, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and kidney function tests usually need no fasting. Fasting blood sugar, fasting insulin, lipid profile and full body checkups need 8–12 hours of fasting with plain water allowed; for thyroid tests a morning, empty-stomach sample is preferred. PP sugar is taken 2 hours after a meal and cortisol is usually a morning sample. Avoid tea, coffee, juice and chewing gum while fasting, and take regular medicines as your doctor advises.Read the full guide — which blood tests need fasting →
