What this test measures
This test measures 25-hydroxy vitamin D, the storage form that circulates for weeks and therefore reflects your genuine vitamin D status far better than the active form does. It captures both D2 and D3 contributions.
Who should consider it
Deficiency is remarkably common among NCR apartment residents who spend most daylight hours indoors. Consider testing if you have persistent bone or lower back pain, muscle weakness, frequent cramps, low mood through winter, or recurrent fractures. It is also worth checking before starting long-term supplementation.
Preparation
No fasting required. Sample can be given at any time of day.
